About our GED Programme

We have recently introduced a General Education Diploma (GED) option to our Youth Café students.
GED is a South African Grade 12, National Senior Certificate Equivalent; UK: A-Level; New Zealand: NCEA and the globally recognised International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
We are providing unemployed youth who have not completed High School with the opportunity to complete their Senior Certificate and access employment opportunities where a Matric is a minimum requirement regardless of experience.
The GED exam is offered only at externally authorised independent testing centres and is internationally recognised. This accreditation and qualification will allow our students to enrol in courses at Colleges and Technical Universities starting at NQF Level 5.

This diploma is a self paced, 100% Online study course preparing the student to pass 4 subjects:
Reasoning Through Language Arts
Social Studies
Science
Students impacted through our GED programme to date.
Where are they now?
Benjamin Louw joined our General Education Diploma GED Matric Equivalent course in 2020.
Sadly Ben lost his dad in 2021. He also lost 3 of his friends due to gang violence. Despite facing great loss and trauma in one year, Benjamin excelled in his exams. He is the only GED student that has passed all his exams. We are immensely proud of this young man!
