Over 50% of 15 to 24 year-old’s in South Africa are unemployed (World Economic Forum, 2014. Global Risk 2014).
Because of these obstacles, 50% of learners in South Africa drop out of school, leaving without any formal education.

The Effects of the Education Crisis
To raise up the next generation of leaders through Education
Raising up tomorrow’s leaders
Education is central to The Sozo Foundation’s holistic work in the community of Vrygrond. Through Education, we are equipping and raising up tomorrow’s leaders, transforming the life of the individual as well as their families. As a result, we increase the ability to secure a decent job, breaking the cycle of poverty.
Going beyond education
We empower learners to not only succeed in school, but in every area of life. Through the provision of psycho-social support, we help care for learners beyond their school grades. We provide daily, nutritious meals for all learners, as well as school stationary supplies, for free. We also inspire our learners to dream bigger than their circumstances by exposing them to career opportunities, tertiary education options and other career-inspiring initiatives.
