About our Digital Design Skills School
Our Master Trainer trains students in the basics of Design Skills and video editing and how to use Adobe programmes including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro. The first month of the course includes teaching on the history, principles, and elements of design. Skills acquired include magazine layout, logo, and poster design as well as video shooting and editing. We have employed one of our Design Skills graduates from 2017 to assist with facilitation.

We have introduced a filming and video editing component to the course equipping students with the skills to create short films of their own.
The course also includes a Photography Masterclass offered by Marike Herselman Photography. The students learn about the technical aspects of photography, starting with light, touching on history, then moving onto cameras and exposure.
Digital Design students graduated to date.

Where are they now?
Meet Nigel Jonas, who came through our Sozo Educentre programme and graduated with his Matric Certificate.
He then completed our Youth Cafe Digital Design School in 2017. We saw such potential that we decided to offer him one of our Internships as a Youth Cafe Mentor and assistant Digital Design Trainer.
Nigel also went to the United Kingdom for a 3 month internship with Community Church – Chafford Hundred and CRC – London where he honed his graphic design skills further!
